Tías is the local government that controls the tourist area of Puerto del Carmen et al, and is therefore a wealthy body. This and the ability to obtain grants from the EEC allows the area capable to provide facilities beyond the expectations of a village / small town.
Tías boasts an opulent multi sports centre which combines with a major auditorium for hosting music, dance drama events of international standing, sometimes of events which were hard to find tickets for in London!
Within the village centre is a recreation area which contains an outdoor arena, public gardens and an indoor theatre.
The town hall is very near by, together with the police and fire service.
There are ample dentists and veterinary surgeries and a new private hospital, compete with helicopter pad.
Close to the villa is a new Petrol station with prices around half those of the UK
